Abstract
453,003. Heating buildings. SCHEIDE, L. B., 154, Kenyon Street, Hartford, Connecticut, U.S.A. May 18, 1935, No. 14638. [Class 64 (ii)] [See also Group X] A pre-formed building section for use in the formation or linings of walls &c. comprises a single layer of separate and independent parallel conducting tubes 21 arranged slightly apart or in contact with each other and opening at opposite ends into ducts 16, 28 adapted respectively to be connected to a source 13 of temperature controlling medium, such as heated or 'cooled air, and an exhaust conduit 29, together with a facing panel or plaster board &c. 18 secured to one face of the section. The sections are preferably of room height and are carried by girders 15, 27. The ducts comprise U -shaped members, the inner of which are provided with openings 20, Fig. 8, each of which communicates with a conducting tube. The parts of a section are united by means of adhesives, clips &c., and contiguous sections are conjoined by unions 24. Free space in the sections may be filled with insulation material. Re-inforcing I-beams 25, 26 may be inserted between the tubes or in the ducts of a section particularly in the lower rooms of buildings. The sections may be laid against a wall of concrete &c. or in its use as a partition wall both surfaces are faced with plaster. Shorter conducting tubes may be used beneath window spaces &c. communicating with horizontal ducts 37 which lead to the main exhaust duct. A blower fan 12 and an exhauster 30 may be used for effecting circulation of the temperating medium.
