Abstract

452,745. Photographic dusting-on processes. KOGEL, G., 9, Hebelweg, Baden- Baden, Germany. Dec. 2, 1935, No. 33392. Convention date, Dec. 3, 1934. [Class 98 (ii)] Prints are produced by exposing under a pattern a light-sensitive layer comprising an organic nitro-compound formed by condensing an aromatic nitro-aldehyde, preferably an o-nitro-aldehyde, with a multivalent aliphatic alcohol and dusting over the layer with suitable bodies. In examples: (1) gelatinized paper is treated with o-nitrobenzylidene-dulcite in dioxan, exposed and dusted over with vermillion or cinnabar ; and (2) gelatinized paper is treated with o-nitrobenzylidene-glycerine in ether and dusted with soot. If triphenylmethane be used in place of the soot in example (2) a colourless image opaque to ultraviolet light is obtained. The materials may be applied to a support of metal, glass, cloth, film, or paper. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also the use of nitrocompounds having one or more hydroxyl groups, e.g. o-nitrobenzaldehyde and an example in which a mixture of o-nitrobenzylideneglycerine and o-nitrobenzylidene-dulcite is applied to gelatinized paper, exposed and dusted with indigo or logwood. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
