Abstract

433,875. Films for colour photography. I. G. FARBENINDUSTRIE AKT.- GES., Frankfort-on-Main, Germany. Feb. 22, 1934, No. 5849. Convention date, Feb. 22, 1933. [Classes 98 (i) and 98 (ii)] The elements on a lenticular film are produced by preparing a relief of a screen e.g. on the surface of a roller and impressing this relief on the film. In carrying out the process a roller 1 is coated with a layer of bichromated gelatin and exposed through a slit 4<a> in a screen 4 to a line screen 3 illuminated by a light source 5. If the slit is of shorter length than the roller the screen 4 is shifted parallel to the axis of the roller after each revolution, or the roller itself may be shifted. Contact printing may be used instead of projection printing. A chromeplated steel roller coated with bichromated gelatin to a thickness of about 0À1-0À2 mm. may be used. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes also the use of a light source of large aperture or a reciprocating light source for producing screen elements having a sharp line of separation. Alternatively the concentration of the hardening or developing agent may be varied. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
