452,550. Medical syringes. BENGSTON, A., 65, Augsburgerstrasse, Dresden, Germany. Dec. 5, 1935, No. 33718. [Class 81 (ii)] A syringe of the kind having a bulb divided into two detachably connected parts is provided with an injection nozzle divided longitudinally so that the whole of the internal surfaces mav be exposed for cleaning. The bulb may comprise a rigid part 1 of artificial resin or metal, and a flexible part 5, as in Fig. 1, or may comprise two flexible parts 17, 5, as in Fig. 2, the parts being held together by flanged screw - threaded rings 7 or 18. The nozzle 8 is divided longitudinally, as shown in section in Fig. 3, and is formed with screw threaded ends 11 and conical surfaces 12 engaging corresponding parts on the syringe neck and on a cap 15 so that the parts are tightly held together' when in use. A screw threaded ring may be applied to the base of the nozzle when this is detached from the syringe. The syringe may have a detachable obturator 2, Fig. 1, or an integral obturator 19, Fig. 2. An intermediate tubular piece 20, Fig. 2, may be used when the upper part of the bulb is flexible or a screw threaded ring may be inserted into the neck of the bulb.
