452,340. Closet &c. basins. GROENIGER, W. C., A.I.U. Citadel, Columbus, Ohio, U.S.A. June 20, 1935, No. 17784. Convention date, June 30, 1934. [Class 26] Flushing water is admitted to closet or like water-sealed basins in the form of jets, a main jet or jets being directed upwardly in the outlet passage, and another jet being adapted to impart vortical movement to the basin contents, the latter jet receiving flushing water before the main jet comes into operation. In the form shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the water inlet chamber communicates with passages 32 ending in jets 32b situated in and directed up the outlet passage 15. One passage is connected to a vortex-producing jet 33 and the top of the inlet chamber is connected to a flushing rim 30 with openings so arranged as to assist the production of a vortex. The discharge pipe 21 is preferably constructed as described in Specification 452,339.
