451,884. Surgical operating - tables. SCHRANZ, R., 28A, Devonshire Street, Portland Place, London. May 29, 1935, No. 15644. [Class 52 (iii)] An operating-table tiltable longitudinally in sections or as a whole comprises a pelvissupporting part 2, Fig. 2, and a back support 1 pivoted together and to the supporting-structure 3 at an axis 4. The gear-box 8 moves along screws 9, 10 pivoted to the axis 4 and to the part 3 respectively ; as it moves vertically along the screw 9, the links 14 move the parts 1, 2 angularly ; as it moves along the screw 10 it tilts the whole table. These movements are effected by handles 18, 17, Fig. 1, mounted on a spindle 16 and a sleeve 15 respectively ; these parts 16, 15 carry worm-wheels 12, 13 which rotate nuts 11 on the screws 9, 10. The parts 1, 2 are covered by a soft rubber mat 5.
