Abstract
450,250. Feeding pallets from stacks. RUNFOLD SAND & TILE CO., Ltd., and WILKINSON, H. A., Guildford Road, Runfold, Surrey. Jan. 7, 1935, No. 551. [Class 117] [See also Group V] A machine for making curved slabs comprises a rotatable drum on to the periphery of which pallets are fed and on which means are provided to engage the pallets so as to cause them to travel with the drum under a hopper. The drum 10 is rotated continuously on a horizontal axis and has side discs 12 and a number of supporting rollers 13. The pallets 15 are stacked in a magazine 14 and are fed on to the drum by feeding devices 16 comprising a spring- controlled finger 24 which engages lugs 25 underneath the pallets. The pallets are carried by the drum under a series of rollers 26 which are arranged on an are eccentric to the drum so as gradually to force the pallets down on to the rollers 13 where the lugs 25 engage stops 27. The fingers 24 are retained by gravity-controlled catches 28. A stationary guide 31 is provided to actuate the fingers 24 when the pallets are absent. The pallets pass from the drum across a bridge plate 35 on to a conveyer 36. The plate 35 engages the rollers 13 and rotates them anticlockwise to prevent uneven wear. In modifications, the fingers 24 may be operated by eccentrics, or the drum 10 may be rotated by the feeding movement of the pallets.
