Abstract

450,001. Reinforcements for roads, floors, &c. KLOPSTOCK, K., 24, Martin- Lutherstrasse, Berlin, and NEELANDS, A. R., Bentley Works, Doncaster. Dec. 19, 1935, No. 35229. Convention date, Oct. 21. [Class 20 (iv)] Reinforcing means for roads, floors, and like surfaces consists of spaced parallel bed rails and transversely or obliquely arranged metal strips standing on edge, the rails or the strips being slotted or notched at the points of intersection so that the strips are horizontally movable either in a longitudinal or in a transverse direction. According to one construction, Fig. 1, the bed rails 1, 1<1> are of channel-section and are notched at 3, 3<1> to receive the strips 4, which are of corrugated form. The strips may be formed by using a continuous length of hoop-iron bent in the manner shown. In a modification, Fig. 3, the rails 7, 7<1> are circular in cross-section and are arranged in pairs. The rails of each pair are joined by springs 8 which hold the rails in inclined converging slots formed in the corrugated transverse strips 5.
