449,715. Vehicle luggage-carriers. TIPSON, G. S., 2535, Farwell Avenue, Chicago, U.S.A. May 30, 1935, No. 15818. Convention date, June 11, 1934. [Class 103 (ii)] A luggage-carrier comprises a rack supported in an elevated position by means on the rack arranged to rest loosely on the floor and engage loosely under the front seat of an automobile. As shown, the rack comprises a framework composed of three L-shaped bars 10 connected by transverse members 12 and the supporting means is formed by extending the two end bars 10 downwardly and forwardly at 13, 14 to provide a floorengaging portion 15 and a seat-engaging portion 16. An additional support comprising an adjustable, two-part leg 17, 18 fixed to the central bar 10 and having a groundengaging foot 21, is provided for heavy loads. To enable the portion 14 to fit under seats of varying heights from the vehicle floor, setscrews equipped with lock-nuts may bo screwed therein.
