882,945. Seats combined with tables. MICROCELL Ltd., and MOLINS, J. J. Dec. 18, 1958 [Dec. 18, 1957], No. 39381/57. Classes 52(2), 52(3) and 52(5) A tip-up aircraft seat has two leg members 11 connected by a transverse rectangular section hollow beam 23 carrying side members 26 and arms to which seat frames 29 are pivoted on bolts so that the beam 23 extends beneath them across the middle third of the distance between front and rear of each seat pan. Each seat pan 29 has a nylon cushion support tensioned by laces and a press-stud (not shown) for retaining a cushion 32 thereon. Upholstered back-rests 33 are each pivotally mounted on a pivot bar 28, the slope of each back-rest being lockably adjustable and the bar 28 also supporting adjustable arms 34 which support trays 35 foldable when not in use to lie in a recess in the rear of its corresponding back-rest 33. Arm-rests 36, pivotally mounted to rotate between upright and horizontal positions, are supported by side members and contain mechanisms linking the back-rest locking means to control knobs 38.
