Abstract

449,676. Fixing bung sockets. MAUSER MASCHINENBAU GES., 28, Marienstrasse, Ehrenfeld, Cologne, Germany. Dec. 21, 1934, No. 7808/36. Divided out of and addition to 449,035, under which a Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, June 22, 1935. [Class 83 (iv)] [See also Group XVII] Jointing.-The sealing arrangement for containers forming the subjectmatter of the parent Specification is modified in that the packing e<1>, Fig. 2, of compressible material is continued over the annular ridge of the bushing. In the form shown in Fig. 3 the cap f is completely lined with a sealing material i. In this form a bung &c. may not be necessary, and the cap f may have sealing contact with the container wall. In the form shown in Fig. 4 the ridge b<1> is made from the material of the container, and a lining is not used. In another form the packing d, Fig. 2, may be extended to the base of the cap flange and packing e<1> omitted. The packing d in this case consists of a rubber cylinder of smaller diameter than the ridge b<1> and is deformed into place. Instead of a cylinder, a flat or conical packing ring may be used.
