Abstract

449,403. Capping bottles. COATES, E. R., and COATES, A. B., 126, Stranmillis Road, Belfast. Dec. 24, 1934, No. 36914. [Class 125 (ii)] A device for capping milk bottles &c., comprises a magazine 3 for caps and a slide 4 operated from a handle 16. A spring 12 mounted on a slidable rod 9 and attached to a link 10 form a lost motion mechanism between the handle and the slide 4. A stop 13 is provided, which moves with the slide 4 on the delivery stroke until it abuts the magazine 3 whereupon the links 14 pull the capping plunger downwards to force the cap into the bottle. The device may be power driven.
