Abstract
449,321. Rockets for dispersing fog. JACKSON, L. MELLERSH-, 28, Southampton Buildings, Chancery Lane, London.-(Massachusetts Institute of Technology ; Cambridge, Massachusetts, U.S.A.) Dec. 18, 1934, No. 36322. [Class 9 (i)] [See also Group I] Fog is dispelled by means of rockets &c. which discharge a hygroscopic material in particle form through the atmosphere. The rockets contain a propelling charge 49, an exploding or disseminating charge 50, and a charge 51 of the hygroscopic material, which may be loose or may wholly or in part be carried by separate explosive packets or bombs 52. Sand or other inert material may be mixed with the hygroscopic material. The sand may be coated with the material. The dissipating material may act as a fertilizer. Concentrated sulphuric acid, calcium chloride, phosphoric anhydride, magnesium . chloride, &c. may be used. Specifications 9580/14 and 21331/14, [both in Class 6 (ii)], 201,.574, [Class 1 (i)], and 229,993, [Class 69 (iii)], are referred to. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 229,993, [Class 69 (iii)].
