Abstract

<PICT:0449181/IV/1> Filaments, threads, and the like of varying denier are made by moving the spinning nozzle in the line of the direction of the motion of the thread during spinning, towards and away from the means for drawing the thread. Apparatus for working the process comprises spinning nozzles 3, mounted on a movable bar 17 carried by rollers 18. By means of the extension 20 and 21, the roller 26, and the rotating toothed wheel 27, the bar 17 and nozzles 3 are moved away from the guides 7. When the roller 26 rides over a tooth on the wheel 27 (as shown at 26<1>), the spring 25 causes the bar 17 and consequently the nozzles 3 to return either to their original position (with the roller at 26<11>) or to an intermediate position (as shown) depending on the disposition of the teeth on the wheel 27.
