202,135. Hobley, J. H. M., and Hobley, C. J. July 8, 1022. Straight - bar machines; warp machines. - Machines such as double-rib warp machines, having two inclined needle bars 1, 2 moved alternately so as to work with fixed. knocking-over bars 30, 31 placed between them, are provided with cams 8 which control the movement of the needle bars both up and down and the knocking- over bars are made adjustable. The bars 1, 2 are attached at their ends to plungers 1<a>, 2a which slide on keys 6 in bearings 3 and have adjustably mounted rollers 9 working in the camgrooves 8<a>. The cam shafts 7, 7<a> are driven by spur wheels one of which, 14, has a clutch mamber 15 which normally engages a corresponding member 16 keyed so as to slide on the shaft 7<a> and operated by a lever 17 under control of the pat. tern mechanism. A screw head 28 bears on the end 24b of an horizontal bell-crank 24 the other end 24<a> of which is drawn by a spring 27, when the clutch parts 15, 16 are disengaged, into contact with a plate 23 on the cam 8, rotation of the shaft 7<a> being thus prevented. The knocking- over bars 30, 31 are carried by angle brackets 32, 33 horizontally adjustable, on vertically-slid able cross-pieces 34 which bear on adjusting-screws 35.
