448,805. Extrusion machines. SIZER, A. W., White House, Davenport Avenue, Hessle, Hull. Jan. 8, 1935, No. 602. [Class 87 (ii)] A machine for making cakes or pellets from meal &c., is formed with a compression chamber 4 common to a worm element having right and left-hand threads 3, 2, while die plates 6 at the ends of the chamber co-operate with knives 7 rotating with the worm element to sever the extruded material in the form of pellets. The chamber is fed with material through an opening 5. The worms may be single or multiple start, and the right and left-hand sections may be 180‹ out of phase relatively to one another. According to the Provisional Specification, the pitch, of the worms may differ gradually from the centre to the ends.
