448,721. Vehicle wind-defiectors and antidazzle screens. MARTIN, J., 110, Hillview Drive, Clarkston, Glasgow. Feb. 5, 1935, No. 3651. [Class 103 (ii)] A combined sun-visor and wind-deflector for motor vehicles comprises a single or compound antidazzle screen placed behind and extending across the front windscreen and hinged to the vehicle body in such a manner that when used as a wind-deflector it extends or one part of it extends upwardly through the sunshine roof opening D and prevents draught inside the vehicle. As shown in Fig. 1, the screen A occupies the positions A<1>. A<2> to act as a deflector and sun visor respectively, the hinge B acting as a draught excluder. In a modification the upper edge of the screen is spaced from the hinge axis and draught is prevented by the screen engaging the forward edge of the roof-opening D. Fig. 5 shows the screen in two parts A, A<2> which may simultaneously occupy the operative positions A<1>, A<3>. In each construction the screen may be divided into two parts by a plane extending longitudinally of the vehicle. The screen may be locked in any position.
