Abstract

A plastic poulticing mass consists of a mixture of diatomaceous earth, powdered clay and glycerin or the like. The diatomaceous earth should be highly porous and may be calcined at a temperature of 900 DEG F. The clay may be kaolin, fire clay, common clay or any friable non-adhesive earth of high density. The diatomaceous earth may be formed into pellets without a binding agent which are rolled in the powdered clay before addition of the glycerin. In a modification powdered cork may be added to the other ingredients.
