Abstract

Stable compositions containing acetyl salicylic acid (aspirin) are prepared by intimately mixing acetyl salicylic acid with an assimilable, non-poisonous, neutral organic calcium salt, e.g. calcium gluconate. The mixture in a granulated or finely divided condition may be formed into tablets or capsules and a binding agent such as potato starch may be added.
