[Class 102 (ii)] [See also Group XVIII] Apparatus for drawing off beer or other liquids comprises an auxiliary container a, to which the beer is admitted through a pipe t from a container in which it is stored under pressure. During filling air escapes from the chamber a through a calibrated orifice and a pipe u until the orifice is closed by a float valve. To draw off the beer the pipe t is closed and draw-off and vent orifices are opened. All the passages are controlled by an annular valve n mounted on a hub m and rotated by a handle s. The valve is held to its seating by a spring- pressed plate p. Compressed gas may be admitted to the chamber a by the valve u when the valve is in an intermediate or " standing " position, in order that the beer may be stored under pressure.
