448,393. Nesting paper containers. JAGENBERG - WERKE AKT. - GES., 107, Himmelgeisterstrasse, Dusseldorf, Germany. Dec. 7, 1935, No. 33972. Convention date, Dec. 8, 1934. [Class 18] A nesting device for paper containers which open out towards the top and which has a counter operated by the containers as they are fed into the pile is characterized in that a movably arranged support 2, which carries the pile S moves under the action of the weight of the pile after release from a stop 25 by the operation of the counter and is returned, after ejecting the pile, by a counter weight 5. Paper containers blown through a delivery tube are guided therein by a series of flat springs f, inclined to the direction of motion, until they rest against a stop. Each container in its passage actuates a spring-biassed feeler which makes and breaks an electric circuit to an electromagnet 10, the armature 11 of which operates a spring-biassed lever 13 to turn a ratchet 18 carrying a cam surface 22. After the passage of a number of containers equal to the number of teeth on the ratchet the cam 22 lifts the lever 24 and removes a stop 25 to allow the member 2 carrying the pile S to descend under its weight to deliver same, the member 2 being restored by the counter weight 5.
