[Class 27] Delivery of articles stored in rows.-In coinfreed or other apparatus for delivering articles 5 from a magazine 1 a plunger 11 feeds the end article upwardly into the top 8 of a channel 8, 6 which forms a small angle with the line of movement of the plunger, the article thereafter passing down the channel to the delivery outlet 7. The articles are pressed against a stop 4 by a weight 22, and when the plunger or core 11 of a solenoid 10, momentarily-energized by coin action or depression of a button, is raised its head 13 raises the end article clear of the stop 4. The plunger and head 13 at once drop back and the remaining articles 5 push the lower part of the raised article in front of the curved face 6 of the delivery channel so that this article drops by gravity and is delivered at 7. Fraudulent extraction of an article from the outlet is prevented by means of a yoke 19 which normally lies over the top of the end article and is pivoted at 17, a pawl 21 fixed thereto engaging a cam face 15 in an arm 14 fixed to the plunger head 13. When the plunger starts to rise the pawl 21 rides up the cam face 15 and rocks the yoke 19 to position 26 clear of the end article allowing the latter to be raised. When the plunger falls again the yoke is returned to its normal position by its weight or a spring.
