Abstract

447,488. Photographic emulsions for use in dye-impression processes. GROVES, W. W., 30, Southampton Buildings, Chancery Lane, London.-(I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.- Ges. ; Frankfort-on-Main, Germany) Nov. 19, 1934, No. 33245. [Class 98 (ii)] Positive reliefs for the imbibition process are prepared on silver halide emulsion layers which have been uniformly hardened to a high degree before use. A suitable degree of hardening is 70-90‹ on a scale defined in the Specification, and may be produced by a solution of alum. The further treatment consists in subjecting the layer to further local hardening in known manner, e.g. by exposure and hardening development of the silver image.
