Abstract

447,229. Separating solid materials. KRUPP GRUSONWERK AKT.-GES., F., Buckau, Magdeburg, Germany. May 28, 1935, Nos. 15528 and 15529. Convention dates, May 28, 1934 and Dec. 17, 1934. [Class 117] A pneumatic jig comprises a rectangular dressing surface traversed by an upward air current and given a slow forward movement and jerky backward movement by means of cams. There may be two surfaces in series and two such pairs of surfaces in tandem. In the form shown, two machines are symmetrically arranged on a common frame each consisting of beds 13, 21 mounted on links 26 and jigged by cams 25, the hopper 24 extending the full width of the beds and having an adjustable outlet. The air chamber beneath each bed is subdivided and a valve is provided in each compartment to regulate the flow. An outlet 19 extending the width of the beds is provided for the heaviest material and the remainder passes over a bridge 20 to the second bed where further subdivision takes place, the second bed having a smaller inclination. The second bed may, however, be omitted. The parts of the beds adjacent to the outlets are non-permeable, and the size of the outlets is adjustable. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 374,423.
