[Class 7 (iii)] The supply of liquid fuel to a submerged nozzle 2 is controlled by an obturating device 10 actuated from the throttle 6, through a bell-crank lever 15 and connecting rod 13, the device throttling the fuel supply only at the beginning of the opening movement of the throttle to permit sufficient fuel to be drawn from the reservoirabove the nozzle 2 to prevent flooding thereof. The fuel is emulsified by air supplied through a pipe 1<1>.
