Abstract

447,091. Obstructing keyholes. HOCHSTADT, W. T., Sailors' Home & Seamen's Institute, Hong Kong. May 30, 1935, No. 15799. [Class 44] For filling up the keyhole of a lock, two steel bars 6, 7 are inserted, the bar 6 having a hooked end 6<11> to engage the lock casing and both bars having openings, at the ends remote from the hook 6<11>, through which a padlock or combination lock can be inserted. One of the bars co-operates also with the bolt or latch, or with both, to hold it in the locked position. The bar 6 preferably has two rings 6<1> hinged on opposite sides and the bar 7 has an integral ring fitting between the rings 6<1>. Alternatively the bars may both have integral heads offset laterally so as to lie side by side. The bar 6 may engage a notch 5<1> in the bolt or latch to prevent movement by end pressure, or the bar may have a projection to engage the notch. Alternatively the bolt may have a projection to engage the bar.
