[Class 78 (i)] In apparatus for ensuring regulatable uniform delivery of pulverulent material from a hopper, a second smaller hopper c is fitted under the main hopper a. One central shaft, carrying all the rotary members, traverses both hoppers, and the main hopper is fitted with a stirrer b and a curved delivery arm s diverting material to the aperture o in which a worm p underneath the fixed platform t delivers the material to the smaller hopper. The latter is fitted with a stirrer d and paddle-wheels or vanes e radiating from a conical hub q<3> and directing the material towards an outlet g in the wall which is partly covered by the inclined lower edge of a sleeve h which carries a scale and can be rotated under a fixed pointer n to vary the size of the outlet, and be fixed in adjusted position by a screw. The variation may, however, be secured by a sliding door or a slide. A fixed cone q may be provided inside the hub q<3> and a wire q<1> fixed therebetween to prevent material penetrating into the space between them. The apparatus may be driven from above or below. In a modified form the hopper a is divided into two superposed chambers with an additional worm corresponding to p in the communicating passage.
