446,811. Decorticating or stripping fibrous leaves &c. KRUPP GRUSONWERK AKT.-GES., F., Magdeburg, Buckau, Germany. Dec. 11, 1935, No. 34389. Convention date, Oct. 28. [Class 120 (i)] In a machine for defleshing fibre-containing parts of agaves and like plants by means of beating drums, a guiding device in the form of a guide disc roller or like member 4, is provided at the feed end of the machine for the lower conveyer 1 adjacent the guide pulley 3 about which the conveyers 1, 2 first pass with the material clamped between them, thus preventing the lower conveyer 1 being forced out of the grooves of the pulley 3 by a thick or root end and the possibility of its destruction by the beater blades. The disc or roller 4 is grooved to accommodate the conveyer 1 and is carried on a rocking lever 5 which is pressed by a spring 8 so as to maintain the disc 4 in close contact with the pulley 3.
