Abstract

446,344. Piston apparatus for discharging receptacles. ANDERSON, H. E., 3, Grenaby Avenue, West Croydon. Oct. 26, 1934, No. 30747. [Class 102 (ii)] A device for dispensing petroleum jelly, face cream, &c. comprises a hollow threaded rod f secured to a hollow disc g mounted in a cover a screwed on the top of a container b. The cover has a depending tube c with opposite slots which is secured to a nut h on the bottom of the rod f to prevent its displacement. A plunger plate i is mounted in the container and has two threaded tongues which lie in the slots d and engage the rod f. Rotation of the rod causes longitudinal movement of the plate i. The jelly &c., is forced up the tube into the disc g. The slotted tube may he dispensed with, and the plunger plate i may be provided with paddles or fins to prevent rotation. The outward pressure of the contents prevents rotation when the plunger, e.g. is provided with a cup leather packing, or comprises a chamois leather between two discs. In the latter case the inner walls of the chamber may taper towards the bottom. The container may contain a refillable element.
