Abstract

In a method for producing rubber articles provided with ornamentations or inscriptions, two rubber plates of different colour are placed in superposition in a mould having the desired pattern engraved therein in negative, the plates being of such thickness that both are urged in common into the engravings, the plates are vulcanized under pressure, the resultant single article is removed from the mould, and the surface layer is removed, as by means of a skiving machine, from the relief pattern to expose the coloured base plate. U.S.A. Specification 1,830,141 is referred to.
