Abstract
445,046. Lubricating - pumps. PEARSON, J. D., Lynedene, Blagraves Lane, Littleover, Derby, and LESLIE, I. A., Fairwater, Evesham, Worcestershire. Oct. 17, 1934, No. 29710. [Class 102 (i)] The lubricating-pump for an automobile chassis is operated by the shock-absorber. The lever b<2>, which operates the double-acting piston of a shock-absorber, carries a pivoted lever c, the forked end d<5> of which engages, with lost motion, shoulders f<3>, f<4> on the piston of the lubricating pump. The lever c has a tug c' engaging a shoulder c<2> on the lever b<2>, so rhat the lever c moves the pump piston to the light only, to effect the suction stroke, the discharge stroke being effected by a spring g. The stroke of the piston is limited by the head g<3> of an adjustable stud g<2>. The pump draws lubricant through a pipe h and past a valve j and discharges to a pipe m through filtering felt washers n, which are held by a perforated ring n<1>.
