Abstract
444,893. Plywood. SAMSONOW, A. DE, 49, Avenue LÚopold Wiener, Watermael- Boitsfort, Belgium. Sept. 26, 1934, No. 27655. Convention date, Sept. 27,1933. [Class 145 (ii)] A laminated wood product is made by cementing together with the aid of heathardenable artificial resin rotary or cut veneers and interposed thinner veneers, the fibres of at least some of the latter being crossed in relation to those of the former, by coating at least some of the layers with the resin and afterwards hot-pressing at a pressure of the order of 200 kgms. per square centimetre and a temperature .of about 120-145‹ C. For example, sheets of beech wood rotary veneer coated on both surfaces with artificial resin are hot-pressed with uncoated thinner beech veneers interposed, the thin sheets having their fibres in one direction and the thick sheets at right angles. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also the subject-matter of Specification 445,163, [Group VIII]. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
