Abstract
444,557. Reservoir brushes. CHRISTIE, J. W., 157, Edwin Street, Croydon, New South Wales, Australia. June 19, 1934, No. 18062. Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Dec. 22, 1934]. [Class 19] [See also Group XVII] Means for supplying the contents of collapsable tubes to brushes or direct to surfaces, consist of a pump plunger 15, Fig. 1, sliding in a barrel 23 and operated by a push button 11 so as first to close a port 5, and to express material past a spring valve 7 to an outlet 9, 10. A spring 12 retracts the piston and the consequent suction draws fresh material from a tube 1. This action is assisted by a spring 14 pressing on the tube. The device may have one or more sets of the suction pump combined in one casing, and a closure valve (not shown), maybe used at 10 instead of the valve 7. As applied to a brush, Fig. 3, the orifice 10 is replaced by a flexible tube 25.
