Abstract
444,539. Type-bar-making machines. INTERTYPE, Ltd., 215, Farnham Road, Slough, Buckinghamshire. Aug. 9, 1935, No. 22532. Convention date, May 24. [Class 100 (iii)] Trimming typebars.-In order to obtain efficient wiping of the trimming-knives, a separate wiper is provided for each knife, the wipers being preferably mounted on the knives themselves, and being given an oblique movement transversely of the cutting edges. The wipers 18, 19, Fig. 3, which are preferably in the form of flat flexible strips of metal or other material, are carried by plates 12, 13, Fig. 2, mounted on the knives 1, 2 by means of screws and inclined slots. The wipers are actuated by a vertically movable member 23 having a groove 29 to accommodate rollers carried by the plates 12, 13. The member 23 is raised against the action of a spring by a lever 39, which is rocked by a stud 43 on the first elevator. Specification 127,442, [Class 100 (iii)], is referred to.
