Abstract

269,772. Yates, P. Aug. 18, 1926. Trimming type-bars.- A wiper for the trimming- knives of type bar-making machines comprises a blade, which is hinged or flexible, or both hinged and flexible, and is mounted on the mould-wheel so as to revolve therewith. In the form described, a leather or other flexible blade f is secured between metal clamping-members g, h, which are pivoted to a bracket a secured to the face of the mould-wheel. The blade is held by a spring l in contact with lugs k on the bracket, so that it normally projects at right-angles to the mould-wheel. A separate blade may provided for each knife, or a single blade may serve for both knives.
