Abstract
378,683. Safety razors. GILLETTE SAFETY RAZOR CO., 15, West 1st Street, Boston, U.S.A. Sept. 25, 1931, No. 26803. Convention date, Nov. 21, 1930. [Class 30.] A safety-razor blade 10, which is preliminarily located on the holder by pivoted dogs 26 engaging end-notches in the blade, and is finally located by projections on the holder, has one or more openings, such as a rectangular slot 16 covered on one or both sides with a backing 18 of such a material as to be torn or deformed by the holder projections to effect location of the blade. The backing may be of paper or of a resilient or deformable material. The holder shown is of the known type in which the blade can be stropped without removal from the holder, and the backing plate has letters outlined on it, the letters B and H having raised parts lying flush with the upper blade surface to form the locating projections above referred to. The blade can be used in any similar holder having differently placed projections.
