[Class 141] A girdle garment is formed with a diagonal opening extending downwardly from the upper edge in substantial conformity with the line of the groin and sliding fastener means for connecting the edges of said opening. In the construction shown in Figs. 1 and 3, which are front and inside views respectively, the girdle is made of elastic material 2 having a V-shaped insertion 1 of inelastic material in the front, with a sliding clasp fastener 6. The insertion 1 may be stiffened by light stays 4, and an elastic strap 8 may be provided across the opening to facilitate the closing of the sliding clasp fastener. In a modified form, the entire front section is made of inelastic material, with a triangular elastic gore at the bottom, while the rear section is composed of elastic material ; in another modification, the girdle is constructed entirely of elastic fabric, but is provided on the interior at the front with a V-shaped reinforcement of inelastic material, the arrangement of sliding clasp fastener and stays in each case being similar to that shown in Figs. 1 and 3. As shown in Fig. 9, a girdle, having a front section of inelastic material, is combined with a brassiere portion, and elastic material extends around the sides and back of the garment. A sliding clasp fastener 19 passes upwards along the line of the groin and around the body towards the back, terminating at the top edge of the garment.
