Abstract

444,129. Transformers. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., 28, Kingsway, London, and CHADWICK, A. T., Siemens Works, Stafford. Dec. 11, 1934, No. 35599. [Class 38 (ii)] A sound-proofed casing for liquid-immersed electrical apparatus such as transformers comprises a tank 1, the side walls of which are stiffened by ribs 3 welded thereto, and an outer envelope 6 completely surrounding the side walls and secured thereto but separated therefrom by resilient sound insulating means such as rubber strips 9, 10, 13. Pipes 16 for the circulation of cooling fluid are brought out from the tank through clearance holes in the outer envelope 19, Fig. 2, and are supported by rubber washers 20.
