Abstract
443,620. Centrifugal compressors. ROY, P. M. F. M., 22, Rue Laugier, Paris. March 15, 1935, No. 8103. Convention date, March 15, 1934. [Class 110 (i)] Gas pumped from the main blades b of a centrifugal compressor passes through a curved passage c with fixed guide vanes, and through auxiliary blades e at a constant or reduced pressure. The gas then passes between stationary guide vanes f to the diffuser. The passage c is square in cross-section and may be quadrantal in a longitudinal direction and the subsequent passage of the gas parallel to the axis of the compressor. Alternatively the passage c is semicircular in a longitudinal direction and a semicircular passage provided between the blades e and the vanes f. The passage h may be disposed on the far side of the vanes f. The blades e may be hollow and are cut or moulded under pressure. They are positioned on the impeller by a tenon k<1> and projection l and held by a nut m.
