Abstract

443,398. Viscosimeters. LACY, S. A. DE, 29, Windermere Avenue, Merton, London. March 5, 1935, No. 6862. [Class 106 (ii)] Comprises a container C closed at its upper and lower ends by oil and petrol resisting stoppers retained under pressure by a rigid slotted frame, a capillary through the lower stopper, a closed vessel V supported by an adjustable platform to receive the liquid discharged, the air displaced being passed through a flow-meter which measures the discharge. The frame may be attached to uprights U provided with lugs R to engage slots in a constant temperature bath. Two sets of apparatus are shown connected to the same uprights U. The receiver V rests on a cupped support which can be adjusted vertically and secured by a clamp S. In a modification, the container C is provided with two capillary tubes each passing to one of two vessels V. In a further modification, the vessel C is wide relative to depth and is connected at the top to the top of a tank into which compressed gas is admitted at the bottom. The capillary tube leads to a vessel V comprise three superimposed connected bulbs and is also connected to a flow meter supported on a platform which is carried by the tank.
