Abstract
442,486. Cycle supports. BLUCHA, L., and BLUCHA, E., 5, Dr. Zinsmeisterstrasse, Troppau, Czecho Slovakia. Sept. 16, 1935, No. 25653. Convention date, Sept. 15, 1934. [Class 136 (i)] In a cycle support of the type having legs which are pivoted on inclined arms on a securing-clamp so as to be spread apart automatically when swung down into operative position, and which are hingedly connected together by members for retaining them in position, the retaining-members also serve as the pivots for the legs in the inclined arms and are so hinged together that in the inoperative position they are extended and in the operative position collapsed. The legs 8 are pivoted to outwardly-inclined arms 7 on an attachment strap 1, which is clamped to the chain stays, as by bolts 5 and a plate 6, the arms 7 causing the legs to be spread apart, Figs. 2 and 4, when. swung down from the horizontal position, Fig. 3. Pivot pins 9 are rigid with the legs 8 and are hinged together at 10, so as to be in alignment in the horizontal position of the legs and to collapse when the legs are lowered and retain them in position. A stop lug 15 limits the downward movement. The legs are held in the horizontal position by a spring clip on one of the chain stays. In order to prevent theft of the cycle, the legs may be locked in the operative position, e.g. by a barrel lock associated with one of the pivot pins 9, the bolt of the lock engaging the strap 1.
