Abstract

441,754. Discharge apparatus. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN, Emmasingel, Eindhoven, Holland. July 23, 1935, No. 20928. Convention date, Oct. 4, 1934. [Class 39 (i)] The supporting and supply members of the grid of a tube are housed in two or more lateral projections of the tube. In one form, the glass portion 2 of the wall of a tube of which the anode 1 forms part is provided with lateral projections 8, 9 having sealing members 10, 11 of ferrochromium. These members 10, 11 may be hollow and water-cooled by pipes 17, 18. Hollow copper rods 12, 13 sealed to them support the grid structure 16 at one end. The grid is supported from the anode at its other end by a quartz spacer. In a short-wave tube the members 10, 11 may be connected by a hollow aluminium yoke outside the tube furnished with a supply terminal.
