Abstract

441,348. Printing-machines. HOE & CO., Ltd., R., 109, Borough Road, London.- (Hoe & Co., Inc., R. ; 138th Street, New York, U.S.A.) Jan. 8, 1935, No. 663. [Class 100 (ii)] Inking-apparatus.-Consists in an ink-pump assembly attachable to a part of the inking- mechanism of a printing-machine and so formed as, when attached, to render the inking-mechanism inoperative to supply ink to the distributing drum while itself becoming operative to supply ink of a different colour to the drum. The ink-pump assembly 10, which may be of the general construction described in Specification 152,657, [Class 100 (ii)], is fixed to a rail 11 which may be detachably secured by screws 13 to the rail 12 normally supplying ink through orifices 47 to the distributing drum 48. The delivery pipes 41 from the pump assembly 10 are connected to a cap 44 fixed to the rail 11 and having ink outlet orifices 46. When the rail is fixed to the rail 12 it covers the orifices 47 to render them inoperative. Ink is suppled to the pump chamber of the assembly 10 by gravity from a reservoir secured to the rail 11.
