Abstract
440,319. Vibration - frequency indicators. CLIMAX ROCK-DRILL & ENGINEERING WORKS, Ltd., 4, Broad Street Place, and COOKE, G. H., 28, Dalmeny Avenue, Tufnell Park, both in London. Aug. 30, 1935, No. 24324. [Classes 106 (iii) and 106 (iv)] In speed indicators of the vibration-frequency type wherein a reed is tuned to vibrate at the required frequency, three reeds 1, 2, 3 are weighted at their free ends so that the central calibrated reed 2 has a natural period falling between the natural periods of the other two, and the reeds are simultaneously tuned by the axial movement of a slotted member 9 through which the reeds pass. The member 9 is externally-threaded so as to be moved up and down when a sleeve 10 is rotated in a casing 7, the external thread on the sleeve 10 having a greater pitch than its internal thread. The projecting part of the sleeve 10 is calibrated. The lower ends of the reeds are clamped between two spring strips 4, 5. The device may be used to measure the frequency of impact of a percussion tool.
