[Class 65 (ii)] A hinge connection between two members moulded from a material such as synthetic resin is formed by moulding a hinge element on one member and a second hinge element on the other and then springing or warping one or each member, preferably while still hot, to effect engagement of the hinge elements, after which the warped member is restored to its original shape. In the form shown in Fig. 2, applied to the flat lid of a box, the lid 2 is formed at the hinging edge a rib having at each end a hemispherical projection 4, while the box 1 has lugs 5 with hemispherical recesses 6 to receive the projections 4; assembly of the parts is effected by bending the lid 2 as shown, the lid then being allowed to spring back to its normal shape. In a modification, when the lid has flanges which prevent bending, the back of the box may be slit for part of its depth just inside each lug 5, so that these lugs can be sprung outwards to receive the lid; the upper edge of the back wall of the box may be shaped to fit the rounded edge of the rear flange of the lid. In these forms assembly may be facilitated by having the box member hot, in which condition the distance between the lugs 5 will be increased, the amount of distortion required thus being reduced. In a further modification, Fig. 12, the lid 2 has a rib 3 with a trunnion 12 projecting from each end, and the box 1 is formed with split sockets 5 to receive the trunnions.
