Abstract

439,410. Folding seats. JOHNSON, E., 1916, 24th Street, Rock Island, Illinois, U.S.A. May 17, 1935, No. 14486. [Class 52 (ii)] A folding seat and back-rest is formed of two sets of parallel slats 14, 10, with flexible means such as bands of fabric 12, 18, 16 formed into pockets connecting the slats together and connecting the slats of the back and seat together, and straps 21 attached to the outer slats and supporting the back in opened position. The outer slats of both seat and back may be cut away at an angle at their adjoining ends to permit the slats to be turned at an angle as shown. When folded together, the seat may be rolled into a bundle.
