459,000. Back - rests. EVANS CONCINNUM, Ltd., and JEZZI, P. G. L., 13A, Mulkern Road, Upper Holloway, London. Oct. 17, 1935, No. 28768. [Class 52 (ii)] A folding back-rest and seat of the type comprising a seat part and a back part connected thereto by a hinge or the equivalent and stays or straps, consists of one or more lengths of fabric stiffened only at the longitudinal side edges by reinforcing strips. The seat 2, Fig. 3, and back-rest 1 may comprise one length of canvas provided at the edges with pockets in which are located wooden strips 3, 4. Straps 13 hold the back and seat in the position of use. Several separate pieces of canvas, 7, 8, 11, Fig. 7, may be used, with a further strip 14, with pockets through which the inner reinforcing strips only pass. In a modification, the strips 14 are omitted. As an alternative to the provision of pockets, the wooden strips 3, 4, Fig. 10, may be secured directly to the canvas, e.g. by staples. The device can be folded into a bundle, and a carrying handle may be provided.
