Abstract

438,141. Escalators. HENLEY'S TYRE & RUBBER CO., Ltd., 20, Christopher Street, Finsbury Square, London, and TRAXLER, J., Court Green, Court Hill, Chipstead, Surrey. May 12, 1934, No. 14449. [Class 78 (i)] An escalator handrail comprises a single width of canvas folded so as to lie in outer and inner layers 1, 2 with the edges 3 meeting substantially along the centre line of the layer 1, the two layers being separated by an inner layer 4 of indiarubber, and the outer layer being covered with a layer 5 of this material. In a modification, one or more reinforcing strips of canvas may be laid on the outer surface of the layer 4 before the margins of the main width of canvas are laid thereover.
