438,074. Binding-machines. INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER CO. OF GREAT BRITAIN, Ltd., 259, City Road, London.- (International Harvester Co. ; 606, South Michigan Avenue, Chicago, U.S.A.) July 23, 1934, No. 21450. [Class 6 (iii)] The bevel gear 13 of the butting device 10 of a binding-machine, a bevel gear 23 driving it, which is mounted on the forward end of the " idler " roller 22, and the train of gearing 18-21, connecting the elevator rollers 14, 15, are enclosed in a housing 24. The housing is secured to the elevator frame and is provided with a hinged cover 25 secured at the top by a swing bolt 27. The wall of the housing is provided with a hole 29 sufficiently large to permit the insertion of the gear 13 which is packed by washers 30 to mesh properly with the gear 23.
