776,880. Tractors. BERNHARD, O. Oct. 5, 1954, No. 28615/54. Classes 79(1) and 79(2). [Also in Group XXIV] In a farm tractor, a gearbox 2 drives differential half-shafts and between each halfshaft and its road wheel 5, 6 is a train of chain gearing 3, 4. Each train of gearing comprises a large and a small sprocket on driving and driven shafts, and a chain tensioned by a pair of jockey sprockets on spring biased arms. According to the invention, the ratios of the trains of chain gearing are changed on manual operation of means which interchanges the positions of the sprockets on the driving and driven shafts (see Group XXIV).
